Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a few things that can save you some trouble and keep you cozy in the months to come. The weather is beginning to heating up in Shelby and the last thing you want is to find out is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this simple checklist now may save you from sweating this summer.
- Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost each and every single of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is dirty, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfortable. This costs you more money and causes more stress on the system which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often neglected as well. While you're spring cleaning, remove the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and swap them after they've dried.
- Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to decrease its efficiency.
- Schedule Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we step in to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up lengthens the life of your system and keeps it working at top efficiency. Spring is the best time to schedule your tune-up so any concerns or AC repair that needs to be made can be taken care of before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifecycle of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to schedule your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 704-233-7363.
